AIR TRAINING CORPS OFFICERS
♦ SPECIAL INSTRUCTION AT WIGRAM A special course of instruction for officers of the Air Training Corps from all parts of the Dominion started at Wigram yesterday. Fifty-seven officers are attending the course, which will end on January 23. The training syllabus includes all the subjects with which the officers will deal when they take command of their flights or squadrons. A similar course is now being held at the elementary flying training school at Levin, and will be followed by another starting on January 19. Those attending the courses are squadron adjutants, officers of city units, and school units. Before the start of the course at Wigram, the officers were addressed by Group Captain G. S. Hodson, officer commanding the station, and Wing Commander G. A. Nicholls, commandant of the Air Training Corps. Flight Lieutenant W. J. Shanly, station administrative officer at Wigram, is running the course, and the adjutant is Flying Officer J. A. Poulsen, who is adjutant of the Christchurch area of the Air Training Corps. Squadron Leader W. H. .Shepherd, South Island divisional commander, is also at Wigram.
