SUMMER FLOWER SHOW AT WAIKARI
The annual summer flower show at Waikari was held on Saturday. The recent dry weather, as well as restricted petrol allowances affected the numbei of entries, especially in the cut flower and decorative sections, but entries in the other sections were well up to totals of last year, and the standard of exhibits was very good. In spite of a reduced attendance, the show was a financial success, and it is expected that the profits will not be far short cf £SO. Points prizes in the various sections were won as follows: —Cut flowers: Mcßae Cup, for most points: Miss Arres 42 points; runner-up, L. R. Rowe, 32 points. Decorative section: Mrs P. A. Turner (13 points) 1, Miss C. Harrison (12 points) 2. Fruit and vegetables; Waikari Hospital (14 points) 1, L. R. Rowe (12 points) 2. Needlework: Miss Z. Carlyle (26 points) 1, Mrs A.
