BRITAIN AND RUSSIA
NEED FOR CLOSEST COLLABORATION SOVIET SENDS MATERIALS TO BRITAIN LONDON, November 21. In London to-day the Soviet Ambassador (M. Maisky), said that the Russian winter would not stop operations,. but might modify them. It would be a hard winter for both sides; but more so for the invaders thap for the defenders. M. Maisky was speaking at an Anglo-Soviet public- relations function, at which the Foreign Secretary (MrR. A. Eden) was present. M. Maisky said he would like the greatest possible collaboration between Russia and Great Britain. If such collaboration was achieved all difficulties could and would be overcome. Mr Eden agreed with M. Maisky’s statement, and said that ships carrying munitions to Russia were now bringing back valuable materials for Britain’s war effort.
