PROFITS REFUNDED TO STATE
♦ AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRIAL FIRMS CANBERRA, November 21. The Minister for Munitions (Mr N. J. 0. Makin) revealed that certain large industrial firms had voluntarily refunded to the Commonwealth more than £IOO,OOO of their profits from works carried out for the Defence Department. Mr Makin commented that this was a healthy sign and expressed the hope that the example would be followed by others imbued with a similar patriotic spirit.
