HOME GUARD UNITS

CASHMERE AND BECKENHAM

The Beckenham and Cashrdere Home Guard units fired a match on Saturday evening on the Cashmere Miniature Rifie Club’s range, Western terrace. The result was a win for Beckenham' unit ‘by 14 points. Conditions were five shots grouping and five shots application, possible 50 points. Both teams scored eight possibles each in the grouping practice. In the application practice only three possibles were put on, R. C. E. Harding for Cashmere and E. Truman and R. Neill for Beckenham being the scorers. At the conclusion of the match Mr Colin Miln, unit commander for Cashmere, congratulated the winning team. Mr K. G. Archer, unit commander for Beckenham, suitably replied on behalf of his team, and said he hoped that Cashmere would have a return match in the near future. Results’ were:—
