- —• — STOCK EXCHANGES LOCAL PRICES MAINTAINED Markets were quieter on call yesterday, but there was a good volume of reported business and price levels were well maintained. Apart from vestibule business, the following transactions recorded:— Sales on ’Change: Listed Stocks—so Mount Lyell, 275; 42 Electrolytic Zinc frights), 28s. Sales Reported: Listed Stocks —250 Comm. Bank of Australia, 13s 10d; 450 National Insurance, 18s 6Jd; 100 New Zealand Insurance, 64s 9d; 150 Union ißank of Australia (late sale Wednesday), £6 10s (2); 100 Morts Dock, 20s Id; 100 Woolworths' (Sydney, ord.), 16s; 100 Austral (N.Z.) (late sale Wednesday), 235. Sales Reported: Unlisted Stocks —100 Assoc. Gold Dredges (14s pd.), 43s 9d: 25 Press Co., £7 ss. Increase In Turnover Commercial Bank of Australia changed hands at 13s lOd, and more .were offered at 13s lid. A late sale 6f Union Bank of Australia, on June 25, was reported at the unaltered price of £6 10s, and unsupported sellers yesterday wanted £6 10s 6d. National Insurance were a shade stronger at 18s 6Jd. New Zealand Insurance rose sharply to 64s 9d, market closing 64s 6d buyers, 65s 4d sellers. South British Insurance were stronger on buyers’ offers, 535. Unsupported sellers, of Wellington Gas reduced their limits to 30s 6d. Buyers of Beath anti Co. moved up to 15s 6d, no sellers offering. Donaghy Rope were firmer, with buyers at 50s 6d. Buyers’ offer* for Electrolytic Zinc (ord. and preference) revealed a firmer market. Morts Dock advanced to 20s Id. Masonite were firmer with buyers at 265. Woolworths, Ltd., remained unaltered at 16s, and more were wanted at 15s lid. Mount Lyells advanced to 275, buyers slaying in at that price, sellers at 27s 3d, A late sale of Austral (N.Z.) on June 25 was reported at 235, and buyers yesterday offered that price without attracting sellers. Martha were firmer with buyers at 7s 9d. Unlisted Stocks—Associated Gold Dredges (14s paid) had business at 13s 9d. Christchurch Press were dealt in at £7 ss. LATEST QUOTATIONS N.Z. Govt.
