♦ ACTING-COMMISSIONER APPOINTED (F.0.P.R.) WELLINGTON. June 11. The appointment of Mr J. H. Boyes, Commissioner of the Social Security Department, as Acting-Public Service Commissioner, as from June 10, was announced to-night by the ActingPrime Minister (the Hon. W. Nash). He said that Mr Boyes had been appointed by the Government, because of the death of Mr T. Mark, the Public Service Commissioner. It was also announced by Mr Nash that Mr H. Digby Smith would assume the office of acting-commissioner bf the Social Security Department.
