DEATHS OF AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALLERS

SYDNEY, May 7. The death occurred in Sydney yesterday, at the age of 55 years, of a former leading Rugby Union footballer, Mr Gordon Shaw. He was manager of the Waratahs on the 192728 British and French tour and he was also manager of the New Zealand tour in 1936. t . He played centre-three-quarter for New South Wales in 1908 and was very popular with officials and players The death occurred on Monday of Mr Chris McKivat, who was regarded as an outstanding half-back both in the Rugby and League codes. He visited England with a Rugby team in 1908.
