ENGAGEMENT
The engagement is announced of Margaret Edith, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs A. J. Grigg, St, Martins, and Private Patrick Minson, Opawa, No. 1 New Zealand Hospital ship, youngest son of Mr and Mrs A. W. Minson, St. Andrew’s Hill. 1
SWANNANOA WOMEN’S DIVISION Mrs W. Davis presided at the annual meeting of the Swannanoa branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. The annual report stated that members had done knitting and sewing for soldiers and for children in the distressed areas in London. , Mrs Colin Mclntosh gave an account of a group travel trip. Officers elected were: President, Mrs W Davis; vice-presidents, Mrs H. Burgin and Mrs F. McHugh; secretary, Mrs M. Harman. Results of competitions were:— Lucky cup, Mrs M. A. Winter; best bloom, Mrs R. Paterson 1, Mrs M. Harman 2; raspberry jam, Mrs M. Harman 1, Mrs W. Davis 2; tomato sauce, Mrs M. Harman 1, Miss J. Winter 2. The hostesses were Mrs H. Burgin and Miss R. Winter. »
