LATER DATE FOR TRAININ G
TERRITORIALS CALLED IN BALLOT STATEMENT BY MANPOWER COMMITTEE A statement that camps for territorial training would now be held during the months of July, August, and September was made by the chairman (Mr J. S. Barnett) at a sitting of the Christchurch Manpower Committee Appeal Board yesterday. Mr Barnett said this information had just been supplied to the Manpower Committee, which was now in a position to adjourn until July the entry of men called to territorial camps. “The committee is disposed to give the benefit of this latter period of training, where it is deemed advisable, not only to future appellants," Mr Barnett said, "but to some of those whose cases have already been heard and determined, where the date of entry into camp was fixed for April 1. It is desired that this course should be made to apply particularly in the case of farmers engaged in wheat production. The committee therefore: undertakes, on the application ot appellants, to review decisions already arrived at.”
