PRACTITIONER SERVICE
- ; MINISTER’S ASSURANCE (From Opr Own Reporter.) > OAMARU, February 23. Certainty that, though there would be opposition, a . system of general practitioner service would be’ introduced in the near future was expressed by the Minister for Health (the Hon. A. H. Nordmoyer) at a conversazione held in his honour at Oamaru by Labour members and -supporters. He was particularly happy in his portfolio, especially when social security legislation was on the upgrade, Mr; Nordmeyer said. *Many countries had grown out of the old system, and New Zealand was going to do likewise, He was certain that before’ man/ months ha'd passed this country would have a system of general practitioner service which the electors had been promised at the last election. There would be opposition, and, at first, anomalies, but given the determination they would .see it through. It meant the co-operation of his Cabinet colleagues, but he would say that he had had nothing but help from them in bringing the scheme to fruition.
