MOA BONES FOUND

GOOD SPECIMENS NEAR HERBERT

Moa bones, in a fair quantity, including some good specimens, were uncovered near Herbert on Friday afternoon in a swamp deposit. They were located two or three years ago.

•The bones are of various sizes indicating that a variety of birds was entrapped. The excavation work is being superintended by Dr, W. R. B. Oliver (Wellington), who is doing the work for the Dominion Museum, of which he is director.
