CANTERBURY CLUB’S RACES
Races were held on Saturday afternoon bv the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club in a fresh north-east wind and a moderate sea, Results were:— I Class, for the Norris Cup (started 3 p.m.)—Luana (G. Courrie). scr, 4.10.57 p.m.. 1; Turi (R. Samson). Imin, 4.12 p.m., 2: Phantom (W. Cook), 3min, 4.17.5 p.m., 3 Five started, „ X Class (started 2.55 p.m.)—Anki (E. Beaumont), 4min, 4.47,25 p.m.. 1; Teao (F. Dobby), Smin. 4.48.46 p.m.. 2: Ajax (R. Priddv), scr, 4.45.48 p.m., 3. A race was held from Lyttelton to Port Levy on Saturday afternoon, with A and B class yachts competing for the Yvonne Cup. The start was at 2.45 p.m. and the finish was: Bona (F. I. Sutton, skipper), handicap 20min, 4hr 56min 45sec, 1; Yvonne (H. Norris), 16Jmin, shr 3min 35sec, 2; Pastime (A. Miller), scr, shr 4min 15sec, 3. Beveridge Trophy Race A fresh easterly and a bright sun made ideal racing conditions for the Beveridge Trophy race, which was sailed bv the boats of the three estuary clubs on. Saturday. The race was won by Vixen (j. Kerr). Final results on handicap times were:— Vixen (J. Kerr), 4hr 40mln 30sec, 1; Nimrod (W. Webb), 4hr 32min 50sec, 2; Fidget (F. Marrlner), 4hr 33min 6sec, 3.
