CHRISTCHURCH CLUB The Christchurch Club celebrated the anniversary of the foundation of Canterbury on Saturday with the annual competition for the Randolph Cup. The competition, which is open ter members of all Canterbury clubs, attracted a large entry, and the standard of scoring throughout was very high. The competition was won by one of the low markers, R. Hay-Mac-kenzie. who return an excellent card of 71, 3—68. Playing soundly, Hay-Mac-kenzie reached the turn in 38, and returned in 33 (three strokes better than scratch). His homeward half included an eagle 3 at the fourteenth hole. Russell, 90, 15—75 In the final of the Richards Cup played over 30 holes yesterday, J. Ramsden beat N. Boon. 8 up and 7 to play. HAGLEY CLUB Results of a Canadian foursome played at Hagley on Saturday afternoon were as follows;—W. Mackenzie and P. A. Irving (14), 4 down: M. Foley and W, M, Tyers (11) 5 down; E. E. The popularity of the open tournaments being arranged by, the golf clubs of Canterbury in aid of the patriotic funds was shown bv the numbers of players at the Rawhiti Club’s course yesterday. Represeutative? of every club in North Canterbury were present, and more than £ls was raised for patriotic funds.
