Watson was appointed The South Canterbury Union wrote suggesting August 31 as a suitable date for a return match against North Otago. The date was confirmed.. Athletic, No. 4, 1.15 p.m. ’ COURSING VISITORS ENTERTAINED Visiting coursing enthusiasts were entertained after the conclusion of the Waterloo Cup maetihg at a social evening on Saturday night. Mr ,O. R. Wise presided. The following toast list was honoured:—“ The King”; National Coursing Association,” Mr J. Mathieson—Mr J. F. Lang; “North Otago Coursing Club,” Mr John Hannon—Mr F. Mitchell; “The Judge,” Mr E. G. Price—Mr L. R Webb; “The Inspector,” Mr A. Smart —Mr. F. Flett; “The Slipper,” Mr G. McLeod—Mr F. Mitchell; “The Hare Trainer,” Mr J. Mathieson—Mr C. Cleverley; and “The Chairman.” The chairman presented the trophies and prize-money to the winners. MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING WEEKLY SHOOTS HELD The following are the results of the weekly shoots of the Railway and Oamaru Ladies’ Miniature Rifle Clubs: Railway Club—Six possibles were recorded at the weekly shoot of the club.
