PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION
* . The public speaking competition fot; the Holland Cup was held by the Christchurch Accountant Students' Society last evening. The competition: was won by Mr T. Bogs on. Miss H. M. Melville and Mr H. Petrie were equal; second. There were six entrants in the 1 competition, which required the delivering cf a prepared speech lasting 12 minutes and an impromptu speech lasting three minutes. The subject of the prepared speech was “That the democratic system of government needs overhauling.”
