FISH LIVER OIL EXTRACTION

♦ NEW INDUSTRY FOR WELLINGTON [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, July 26. The establishment of a new industry in Wellington, for the extraction of fish liver oils from the livers of fish caught in New Zealand waters, was announced by the Minister for Marine (the Hon. D. G. McMillan) to-night. The Minister, in commenting on the industry, said that tests had shown that one gallon of New Zealand ling liver oil was equal to 15 gallons of cod liver oil in vitamin A content, and to five gallons of cod liver oil in vitamin D content, while one .gallon of groper liver oil was equal to 30 gallons of cod liver oil in vitamin A content, and to 22 gallons of cod liver oil in vitamin D content.
