. • NORTH OTAGO’S WAR EFFORT £5700 COLLECTED FOR RED CROSS APPEAL North Otago residents have responded readily tb the Red Cross appeal for the Sick and Wounded Soldiers’ Fund, about £5700 already being subscribed. A sum of £5205 0s 7d has been collected by donations, and a further £4OO from the Otago raffle has yet to be credited to the North Otago,list. An amount, also, has yet to be forwarded from a commercial broadcasting effort. The amount of this sum is not known. RUGBY FOOTBALL COLLEGE JUNIOR TEAM WITHDRAWS Advice was received from St. Kevin’s College that its junior grade teapi which was regraded from third grade would be withdrawn from the competion, at the weekly meeting of the North Rugby Union last night.
