ANOTHER U-BOAT SUNK
WRECK IDENTIFIED BY DIVER LONDON, April 18. There is news of the destruction- , of another German submarine. A French communique stated that a . diver had identified the wreck of a. Germ ftp submarine which had been attacked by a French patrol vessel a few -weeks ago. It was then not known for certain whether the sub- . marine had. been destroyed, and it was not officially claimed as a success, but the diver’s discovery. puts - the matter beyond doubt. • The number of, German sailors from U-boats who are prisoners 'in - Britain has been . increased -by -40 , men who were landed at a Scottish •. port and put on a train, for .a prison camp. . Spearfish Back at . Base The story of the the ’ German warship Admiral Scheer was told by the crew of the British . submarine., Spearfish; ‘which has anchored at her base. The' crew were in- high spirits- and* lined the deck of the submarine with, their . thumbs up. . • The German warship was. sighted traveUlng at high speed and it was • at first thought that she-was a destroyer. However, it -soon • became clear that it was a bigger .vessel, and-the submarine went inter action. The impact of the torpedoes on. the warship was heard on the Spearfish - as she made her escape. .
