In the interests of farmers selling to the meat companies the executive of the North Canterbury district of the... : New Zealand Farmers' Union decided; .a yesterday to ask that restrictions onthe; - buying operations of the conjpjgftiSS should be removed. • The following resolution was adopted: "That in accordance with Mr Nash's statement that it was the opinion of the Meat Board that competition between the meat companies would, give the farmers a maximum return « for their stock we respectfully ask that all restriction on Borthwick's and other companies' buying operations be removed."
