McKenzie (Masterton) divided the first, second,, and third prizes in tlie £l5O single rise clay target handicap at the New Zealand Gun Clubs' Association cerAermial trapslrvoottftg tournament, which opened at the Hutt Valley Gun Club's ground to-day. Each took £43 15s. Turner and McKenzie scored a possible off the first barrel. Watkins had a second barrel on the fifth and twenty-fiflh shots. Four shooters were equal with 24—D. P. North (Wanganui), T. Clouston (Lauder), E. Broad (Invercargill), and M. Kearns (Palmerston North). They divided fourth and fifth money, each taking £4 13s 9d. Other Canterbury scores in the £l5O handicap were:—C. E. Brown (Lyttelton) 23, R. S. Taylor (Christchurch) 20, S. J. Godfrey (Hokitika) 18, H. Grennell (Port Levy) 20. There were competitors at the tournament from all parts of New Zealand. They included nine former New Zealand clay target:. shooting champions. There were 62 competitors .in the £l5O handicap. Sweepstake Event The next event, a £1 sweepstake, drew 73 competitors. There were 20 targets from five tracks. H. Grennell (Port Levy) and R. Williams (Carterton) each scored a possible and took first and second prize money, £24 16s 6d each. Grennell shot off 17' yards and Williams off 12. There were 48 competitors for the two trophies, valued at £lO 10s and £5 ss, given by Mr R. E. Cuthbertson, of Wanganui. In the 15 target event M; Pratt (Otorohanga), W. Oates (Tokomaru), E. Flux (Hutt), R. Lindsay (Kerepehj), and G. V. Edge (Bluff) scored'the possible. They divided the optional sweepstake and received £3 Is each. In the shoot-off for trophies Oates won on the fifth round from Edge, who took second place with four.
