NO WARRANTS OF FITNESS

OFFENDING MOTORISTS ..WARNED

A warning to motorists who neglect to obtain warrants of fitness for their vehicles was given by the Magistrate, Mr E. C. Levvey, in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. The Court was dealing with traffic offences and had a number of offenders on the list who had failed to obtain warrants of fitness for their c cars.

The Magistrate said that Warrants of fitness were of very great importance, as he had had cause to know in another sphere in which he -exercised jurisdiction. He warned motorists that in future there would be heavier penalties for failure to obtain warrants. One man charged with having ho warrant was fined £5. (The Inspector who gave evidence said that the defendant did not produce a warrant When he was required to, but produced a rejection slip instead. The Magistrate said that this defendant must be brought to book. His vehicle not only had no warrant of fitness, but had actually been rejected,
