TUESDAY (Before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.) FALSE PRETENCE Walter Alexander White, a painter,, a married man, aged 39, of Lyttelton, (Mr J. T. Watts), pleaded guilty to two charges of obtaining money by false pretence from John Bede Payton. The amount involved Was £SO. Detective-Sergeant F. Sinclair said that the accused represented that he could employ a nephew of the complainant, and obtained the money in this way. Mr Watts said that White had a large family and had had difficulties over a long period. This was his first appearance in Court. White was remanded until tomorrow, to enable a report to be obtained from the Probation Officer. BREACH OF PROBATION
