TEMPERANCE UNION AT NEW BRIGHTON
* Mrs G. Ellis presided at the annual meeting of the New Brighton branch of the Women’s Christian 'temperance Union, held in the Methodist School hall. Mrs F. M. Mitchell presented the annual report. Officers elected were:—President, Mrs H. M. Hall; secretary, Mrs P. M.' Mitchell; vice-presidents, Mesdames F. H. Bailey, Morley-Scott, and F. Good; treasurer, Mrs C. N. Fraser; superintendents of departments, Mrs Flower (evangelistic), Mrs J. Clarke (“White Ribbon” agent), Mrs W. Peppereli { (newspapers), Mrs F. Gabb (scientific and temperance), Mrs J. Hall (notable I days), Mrs Marks (legal and parliamentary), Mrs F. M. Mitchell (cradle j roll), Mrs Lewis (philanthropic); Mrs j Hale (Band of Hope), Mrs Inns (representative Canterbury executive).
