PRESBYTERIAN SOCIAL SERVICE

ANNUAL MEETING OF

ASSOCIATION

The opening of the family home in Bligh’s road and the appointment of a social service chaplain (the Rev. James Tennent) were the most notable events of the thirtieth year of the Presbyterian Social Service Association, said the chairman (the Rev. A. C. Watson) at the annual meeting of the association last evening. Mr John Mac Gibbon emphasised the need for building up a capital fund and said there was no work with a greater claiin to -the generosity of intending benefactors than tile work among children carried on by tfte association. The following committee members who retire by rotation were re-elected: Messrs H. P. Donald, A. O. Wilkinson, George Callender, and John MacGibbon. The superintendent (Mr A. J. McEldowney) and the chaplain gave an account of the year’s work. After the meeting a short concert programme was given by children from the Prebyterian homes.
