GIFT PARTIES
Miss Cecily Allott, whose marriage will take place shortly, has been entertained at a number of parties given by her friends recently. Mrs W. Young was hostess at a “bathroom” gift party held at her home, and competitions were won by Mrs R. Metson and Miss C. Allott. Those present were Mesdames Hall. E. J. King, F. E. Allott, A. S. King, R. Metson, Avery, Cameron, Sands, Walker, R. Westwood, Misses C. Allott and B. Cameron.
A picture party was given by Mrs A. S. King, and guests brought “variety” gifts for Miss Allott. Those present were Mesdames J. Campbell, W. fcampbell, E. J. King, R. Metson, T. W. McKirdy, A. Williams, G. Cullen, T. E. Allott, J. Allott, Misses P. Campbell. A. Allott,, R. Hitchings, R. and N. Williams, S. and C. Allott. Other hostesses have included Misses Eunice Dinnicombe and Audrey Allott, and Mrs E. G. Brooke.
DANCE AT BALCAIRN
Many guests enjoyed the hospitality of the Balcairn Young People’s Club at a dance held in the Public Hall, Balcairn.
JVTusic was played by the Travelling Troubadours’* and Miss H. Smith, and the £rogramm e was directed - t>y JVlessrs z,, ang and K. Smith. Novelty dances were won by Miss V. Ashworth and Mr E. Demmocks.
