ELLESMERE GUN CLUB BEATS METHVEN With a score of 142 out of a possible of 150, the , Ellesmere Gun Club s team beat Methven* in a match at Leeston for the Methven ' challenge cup. .Fine weather prevailed and the conditions were 10 men a side, each man firing at 15 clay birds. This also was a 15-bird match, and again the shooting reached a high standard, nine competitors making possibles, nine others being qne down, and a further nine two down. The all-ons were:—F. L. Graham, T. Gordon, L. C. Lemon, H. Cromie, T. S. Harrison, W. Anderson, R. L. Donald. J. Philpott. and R. S. Thian. Those with one down were W. H. Winchester, G. M. Doyle, 1. Mawson, W. L. Donald. J. S. McHugh, T. Middleton. H. T. Stephens, J. Winchester, and S. Masters. The nine men with possibles divided the sweepstake money, and shot off for several trophies, Crombie winning first prize at the twenty-second round, R. L. Donald second, and Graham third. Ladies who drew the shooters with possibles and divided £2 14s in prizes were Mesdames Rhodes, W. J. Patterson, R. L. Donald, L. Chambers, A. McPherson, and W L, Donald, and Misses N. Graham, Breitmeyer, and J. Brown. The following who drew shooters with 14 on also secured part of the prize money:—Mesdames J. Anderson, Webster, H. T. Stephens, R. A. Burgess, and G. M. Doyle, and Misses D. Corbitt, D. Stephens, M. McGill, and Prince. . . . . . Twenty-seven competed in a six-bird sweepstake, and the following with all on divided the stake:—L. W. Prosser, G. M. Doyle. H. A. Cromie, A. McLeod, S. H. Anderson. T. S. Harrison, W. Anderson, M. Holland, D. S. Dorreen, H. Warden, and F. Brightling. ... G. M. Doyle and A. A. Greenwood, with possibles, divided the stake in a 10-blrd yankee shoot.
