NEGLIGENT DRIVING causing Death
♦ FINE OF £2O AND LICENCE. CANCELLED (PRESS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, May 8. Henry John Falleni, aged 39, a hairdresser, found guilty of negligent driving at Lower Hutt on February 19, and causing the death of an 18-months-old child, was fined £2O by Mr Justice Smith and ordered to pay costs, £l6 3s 4d, within two months, in default two months’ imprisonment. Falleni’s current licence was suspended, and he was prohibited from obtaining another lot three years from to-day. His Honour said the case was difficult, though the prisoner was not under the influence of liquor. His Honour said he had no reason to think Falleni would offend again. He was in"dined to the view that the accident might have been due to physical exhaustion. _________________
