MEMORIAL SERVICE

REV. J. F. COURSEY

A memorial service for the Rev, J. F. Coursey was conducted in St. Augustine’s Church, Cashmere Hills, by the Rev. A. H. Me C. Acheson, yesterday. He was assisted.by the Rev. H. M. Cocks. Many representatives of Mr Coursey’s earlier parishes were present, from Geraldine, St. John’s, Latimer square, and Westport. Numbers of his other friends were also in the congregation. “Our hearts are sore with the loss, and we have not yet readjusted ourselves to life without the vigour and buoyancy of his presence,” said Mr Acheson, He recalled Mr Coursey’s activity in Synod, where, he said ? he was a constructive critic who wanted to get things done. He referred also to Mr Coursey’s work in education, sport and other circles, and the Returned Soldiers’ Association.
