NORTH CANTERBURY JUNIORS
HAVE EASY WIN
North Canterbury had a convincing win by 351 runs to 132 on the first innings in a junior representative cricket match against a Canterbury Cricket Association team, at the Rangiora High School grounds on Saturday. The North Canterbury batsmen were on top of the bowling through the whole of their innings, while G. Smith completed the rout of the Canterbury Association team by taking five wickets for 23 runs. The outstanding feature of the final day’s play in the Auckland Cricket Ass ciation’s senior competition was the bat ting o£ the New Zealand representative, W. g M. Wallace, who scored 231 not out in 205 minutes. Wallace has scored 1002 runs in club cricket this season, his score in the last three innings being 204, 176. and 231 not out. V. J. Scot, who required 130 to complete his 1000 runs in club cricket, failed by 53 runs. _ The championship was won by LCien. with 39 points, three P omts ™£ead of North Shore, the runner-up. Eden drew with Middlemore, scoring 333 in the first Innings, to which Middlemore replied with 246 for six wickets (H. T. Pearson 109, D parnefh f 350 sfor 5 for eight (W. M. Wallace 231 not out) beat University, 208, on the r fn *rep?y S to Ponsonby-Balmoral's first innings total of 264, Young Men s Chnshan Association made 357 for seven wickets (A. E. Wilkinson 134, V. J. Scott 77, C. P. Lund 52 not out). North Shore won on the first innings against Grafton, scoring 151 and 118 for eight wickets declared (L. Curtayne 39). Grafton scored 94 (J. B. Simpson, six tor 36) and 107 for six wickets (Simpson, four for 38).

v WELLINGTON. April 2. The Wellington Cricket Association s season officially concluded on Saturday with the final of the knock-out competition. which was confined to one day because of rain on the previous Saturday. The match resulted:— . Kilbirnie 196 (D. S. Wilson 47. H. F. Rice 45: Blundell seven wickets for 61 runs) beat Wellington 142 (J. Ell 29; J. Ashenden four wickets for 57 runs, D. S. Wilson three for 36).
ST. MARTINS BEATS ST. ALBANS
In the annual cricket match between the St. Albans and St. Martins Cricket Clubs, played at Hagley Park on Saturday, St. Marlins made 269 (B. F. Wilson 63. N. W. Anning 40, M. Burtt 28, C. G. Truscott 25). St. Albans made 113 (G. P. Head 32 not out). Bowling for St. Martins, J. Thorne took four wickets for 27 runs, and W. Kenney three for 16; and for St. Albans, F. Bennetts took three for 44. St. Martins won b'y 156 runs.
HAY’S TEAM BEATS HOSPITAL
Playing at Barrington Park on Saturday, Hays 63 beat Hospital 47. Batting for Hays. E. Cooper 20, P. Mora 11, and G. Jackson 10 were top scorers. Bowling for Hospital, Randall took six wickets for 19 runs and Betteridge two for 32. Batting for Hospital. Randall 20 and Smythe 15 were top scorers. Bowling for Hays, P. Mora took seven for 25 and E. Cooper three for 21.
ANNUAL FIRM’S MATCH
Scores of 72 by D. King and 67 by G. Banfield were largely responsible for W. L. King’s team totalling 206 in its annual match at Hagley Park on Saturday against a team representing E. Reece, Ltd., which scored 139. G. Graham and A. Ellis, who each scored 33, were top-scorers for E. Reece, Ltd. Bowling for. King’s team, W. Stevens did the "hat-trick.”
