LAWN TENNIS

UNIVERSITY CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD A successful year was recorded at the annual meeting of the Canterbury University College Tennis Club last evening, a membership of 127 being attained during the year. The club was well represented at the university tournament in Auckland last year, those participating including Misses Inwood, Roscoe, Jones, Murray, and Hervey, Messrs Corich, Coward, Prebble, and Walls. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr T. D. Straker-Smith; president, Mr F. J. Murray: vice-presidents, Messrs A. Lush, B. D. Duffield, H. A. Young, B. A. Barrer, Professor P. H. Powell; captain, X. J. Corich; secretary, Mr L. White; treasurer, Mr M. J. Graham; committee, Messrs V. Jones, T. W. Walls, A. G. Hunter, W. J. Webster, Misses L. Jones, S. Roscoe, and M. Sexton.
