CHRISTCHURCH CENTRE MEETS
OFFICIALS* MATCH TO BE
ARRANGED Permission was granted to the Cashmere Bowling Club to hold tournament days on March 23 and April 1, at a meeting of the Christchurch Bowling Centre last evening* when Mr S. Barnett presided. The three-rink championship had. been won by Canterbury, and the Manning Cup pennant series by Hornby with 140 points, reported the match committee. Cashmere (Morrison, skip) was set down to play Opawa (Steans) this week in the Watson Shield series.' Six wins had been recorded by Linwood. In the Robinson Shield series, Kaiapol Working Men’s Club (Cowan) was to play Shirley (Kay). Edgeware would be the venue of the North Otago match on Saturday. On Thursday the Elderly Bowlers would play at Linwood, the good total of 134 entries having already been received. The centre decided to send its congratulations to the Canterbury Club on its win In the champion of champions’ match. It was decided, on the hdvice of the match 'committee, to arrange a date for a match next month between the secretaries and treasurers of the various clubs.
