NORWEGIAN MEASURE IMPORTANCE FOR WHALING EMPHASISED !CXITBi> PKEoS ASSuCIVI'ILX COrVE.OBT.) (Received January 15, 8.30 p.m.) OSLO, January 14. A measure introduced in the Norwegian State Council claims sovereignty over Antarctic continental territory stretching from the Falkland Islands to the Australian Antarctic dependencies. The Foreign Minister (M. Koht) explained that the sector involved had been mapped exclusively by Norwegian expeditions. The area claimed was most important for Norwegian whaling. It was not intended to restrict the whaling rights of other countries.
