MR THORBY ARRIVES AT SINGAPORE
STUDY OF EMPIRE DEFENCE SYSTEM

SINGAPORE, January 13
The Australian Minister for Defence (Mr H. V. Thorby) arrived and was received by the Air Officer Commanding and the Director of Civil Aviation. In an interview Mr Thorby said: “I hope to gather considerable knowledge of the Singapore and Malayan defences, and of how they link with the defences of Australia, New Zealand, and New Guinea.”
