WEDDING

WARD—AUSTIN

The wedding was celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Merivale, of Kathleen Grace Buxton, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs J. E. Austin, Dyer's Pass road, and formerly of "Maruakoa," Oamaru, to Denis Ardmore, son of Mr Harold A. Ward, of Northumberland, and formerly of India. The Ven. Archdeacon A. K. Warren performed the ceremony, and Mr A. Worsley played the wedding music. Girl friends of the bride had decorated the church for the occasion with bowls of delphiniums, red Christmas gladioli and pale pink roses.

Mr Austin escorted his daughter, who wore a trained frock of off-white lace made on simple lines with long sleeves. Her veil of old Brussels lace, a family fell from a head-dress of St. Joseph lilies, and she carried an arm spray of matching lilies. Miss Averill Wilson, the bride's cousin, and Mary Coats, were the bridesmaids. They wore frocks of almond green lace with matching bolero coatees, and large leghorn hats with bands, and streamers at the back of velvet ribbon matching their frocks. Tangerine abutilons and golden spirexia were arranged in their bouquets. Mr Colin Austin was best man. and Mr Reginald Hudson was groomsman. The wedding reception was held at the Clarendon Hotel, where the guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a black lace frock, and a large black hat trimmed with white ostrich feather. Her bouquet was of red roses.

For travelling, the bride wore a navy blue wool sheer frock and coatee relieved with a cream Peter Pan collar. White roses on the crown of her navy straw hat showed beneath a navy veil. —1
