A CAREFUL DROVER
TO THK EDITOR 0» TBI PRESS. Sir, —As my business has required me to use the Marshland road for the last two years, I have waited in vain for some other motorist to write to you comemnding a young man on the way he drives a herd cf cows along this road from the Styx bridge. Whether on horseback or bicycle, ha keeps them on the side of the
road off the bitumen, giving traffic a straight run through. I have thought many times that if one can do this, surely others can do the same. I had occasion to pass him to-day. All his cows were walking on the grass at the side of the road, and be-
hind him about 200 yards away another herd followed, spread all over the road. The person driving them did not seem to worry where or how they wandered. As we have just had a road safety week I am sure other motorists using i
this road will join nie in thanking this young man for the courtesy and consideration shown to others, which may well be copied by the other dairymen adjacent.—Yours, etc.. GRATEFUL. December 17, 1933.
