NEW PRODUCTION SCHEMES ADDITIONS TO FACTORIES PLANNED (raon OUB OKS CORRESPONDENT.) LONDON, August 28. Three new schemes for aircraft production have been announced in a week by the Air Minister, Sir Kingsley Wood. A. V. Roe and Company, Ltd.-, at Manchester, have been authorised to build another aircraft factory to cost £1,000,000, and employ 10,000 additional persons At Belfast there is to be a £150.000 extension to Short and Harland’s aircraft factory, which will increase the personnel from 3000 to more than 6000. And at Speke, near Liverpool, there are to be extensions at Roote’s factory which will increase production by 40 per cent, and personnel by 1000 to 6000.
