A CHAIN LETTER
TO THE EDITOB 0» I'HI PRE 33. Sir,—ln answer to “A Catholic Layman’s” letter. I should just like to say that I think that if all the persons who have received these chain letters sent out a few silent prayers for peace instead of worrying about how the elections are going, would be doing far more good, as it will not matter which side gets in if war comes, and we all know what to do with anonymous chain letters. —Yours, etc ONE FOR PEACE. September 27, 1938.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE PRESS. Sir. —I do not subscribe to “Catholic Layman’s" eulogistic reference to the National Party contained in his letter of your issue to-day. We know only too well what the Conservatives stand for, and what a poor showing they made when in power. > The Labour Government has proved itself humane in all its legislation to date, and 1 have no fear of the future, or of the result on Election Day. in spite of insidious chain letters and other election propaganda to the contrary.—Yours. 6tC ‘‘ CATHOLIC LAYMAN NO. 2. [This correspondence is now closed. — Ed.. “The Press."]
