♦- WEDNESDAY (Before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.) REMANDED Ernest Claude Keenan (Mr D. J. Hewitt), charged with stealing a bicycle valded at £3, the property of James Thomas Ayers, was remanded till September 15. NEW BRIGHTON CASES The following were fined and ordered to pay costs or otherwise dealt with on charges brought by the New Brighton Borough Council (Inspector F. Blewitt); — No-warrant of fitness: Joseph Kirner 5s -(no licence ss), Robert May ss. Cycling on footpath: Douglas L. Smith costs only, Kennedy Watson costs only. Parking in prohibited area: William Thomson 10s. x . Cycling without light: William J. Moore 10s. UNLICENSED RADIOS The following were fined and ordered to pay costs for possessing unlicensed radios:—Herbert Tamblyn Hirst ss, Lucien Hunt ss, Henry Kearns ss, Edward John Mcllroy 12s 6d, Robert Maurice Meyer ss, Mona Naisbitt ss, John. Smith ss, Charles Percival Triggs ss, Philip Andrew Williamson ss, James Wright 10s. MILK BELOW STANDARD In his capacity of executor of the estate of David Williamson, the Public Trustee, for whom Mr K. M. Gresson appeared, was_ the defendant in two charges relating to the estate brought by the Health Department (Inspector T. Pargeter). The charges were: Selling milk deficient in milk fat. and selling milk to which water had been added. The Public Trustee was purely a technical defendant, said Mr Gresson. The offences had been caused by the gross carelessness of an employee, who was no longer employed on the estate. Fines of £6 and £4 on the respective charges were imposed and payment of costs ordered. HEATHCOTE TRAFFIC CASES On charges brought by the Heathcote County Council (Inspector A. Tait), the following were fined and ordered to pay costs:— • Exceeding speed limit: Stanley F. Henderson £3, Bernard Francis .Smyth £l. , ' No footrest on motor-cycle: James Dickson 20s. Passing stationary tram; Caryl Graham Pearson 20s.
