POSSIBLE VARIATIONS
INFORMATION SOUGHT FROM MINISTER

WELLINGTON, September 1. A definition of the Government’s at* titude toward possible variations in this segsqn’a guaranteed price for dairy products was sought by Mr. A. C, A. Sexton (Independent, Franklin) in giving notice of a question addressed to the Minister for Marketing (the Hon. W. Nash) in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Sexton drew attention to the power vested in the Government to reduce the guaranteed nrics by Order-in-Council, and asked whether the Minister would give an indication as to whether the price once fixed for the current season (Was likely to be reduced if, during that period, there was a recession in the sterling price of dairy produce. Mr Sexton also asked for an assurance that the price fixed for the season would not be lowered, and further inquired whether, in the event of an alteration being considered necessary, the Minister would give an assurance that he would he guided only by the specific considerations in the act governing the manner in which the prices for export dairy products were to be fixed.
