THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL

The Governor-General, Lord Galway, visited Canterbury University College yesterday morning. He was met and escorted through the buildings and grounds by the chairman of the college council. Mr A. E. Flower, members of the council, the rector, Dr, James Hight, members of the staff, and representatives of the Canterbury College Students’ Association. Lord and Lady Galway attended the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting at Riccarton. In the evening Lord Galway visited the headquarters of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. This morning Lord Galway will visit the Christchurch Boys’ High SchooJ and later wih attend the trotting meeting at Addington At 3 p.m. Lady Galway will visit the Young Women’s Christian Association. Their Excellencies will be present at the races to-morrow, and will leave for Wellington by the steamer express in the evening.
