EXPENDITURE REVIEWED [THE PRESS Special Service.} WELLINGTON, July 28. A review of the activities and disbursements of the various benevolent funds under its administration is included in the annual report of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association presented to the Dominion conference to-day. Apa;t from the grants made available by the New Zealand Expeditionary Force Canteen and Regimental Funds Trust Board and the National War Funds Council, the report states that the Dominion headquarters had been kept busy during the year with the administration of the Anzac Commemoration Fund, the Selina Broderick Fund, the Isolated Maori Fund, the United Services Fund (for Imperial men), the Imperial Servicemen's Poppy Day Fund (for Imperial men), and the Imperial Officers' Fund (for Imperial officers). In addition to the above funds, the sum of £233 9s 7d was made available during the year by the Bank of New Zealand on behalf of ail anonymous donor for the benefit of the sick and needy. To March 31, 1938, 160 cases had received assistance from the Anzac Commemoration Fund, the amount expended being £1047 7s lOd. The balance remaining in hand was £7589 5s 4d (including £6OOO in inscribed stock).
