CLAIM FOR £162 SUCCEEDS
GOODS DELIVERED BY CHRISTCHURCH FIRM Judgment for plaintiff for the full amount claimed, £162 11s lOd, was given in a reserved decision in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday by Mr F. F. Reid, in a claim by S. Hollander and Company, manufacturers, Christchurch (Mr L. J. Hensley), against the London Mantle Manufacturing Company, Dunedin (Mr E. S. Bowie). The claim was for goods sold and delivered to the defendant company during September, 1937. The Magistrate said he was satisfied that the defendant company’s manager had agreed to buy the whole line of costumes mentioned in the claim. Negotiations between • the parties showed that the defendant knew the goods had been sent in pursuance of an order which he claimed to have subsequently cancelled. The Magistrate preferred to accept the plaintiff’s evidence that he was instructed to' hold the goods on the defendant’s account, _
