TUESDAY (Before Mr E. C. Lewey, S.M.) REMANDED Edward Clarence Brimfield, labourer, aged 47, and William Jack Bowes, contractor, aged 33, were each charged with stealing on July 19 two sacks of certified white clover seed, valued at £35. the property of J. Montgomery and Company. On an application by the police the accused were remanded to Monday, August 1. Mr M. W. Simes, for Bowes, asked for bail, which was granted in self £2OO and one surety of £2OO. FURTHER CHARGES PENDING William Henry Culverhouse Webber, labourer, aged 32, was charged with wilful and obscene exposure. A remand was granted to August 1. Detective-Sergeant Sinclair said that other similar charges were pending. CIVIL CASES (Before Mr F. F. Reid, S.M.) JUDGMENT SUMMONSES D. M. Munro was ordered to pay the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association of Canterbury, Ltd., £4 8s 10d forthwith, in default four days imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as long as defendant pays 10s a week. , . . W. G. Thomas was ordered to pay Pannell and Company, Ltd., £4 Is lid forthwith, in default four days imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as long as defendant pays 10s a week. , Cyril W. Brewer was ordered to pay Helen Macauley £8 2s 4d forthwith, in default 10 days’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as long as defendant pays £1 a week. Frewin, £1 6s, CIVIL CLAIM, Judgment for the plaintiff on both claim and counter-claim was given when John Warlow (.Mr H. O. Jacobsen) claimed £6 13s from Joseph H. Templeton (Mr A. D. Hobbs), as damages to his motor-car incurred through an accident caused by the alleged negligence of the defendant. The counter-claim of £29 0s 8d was for damages to the defendant’s car caused by the alleged negligence of the plaintiff.
