ASHBURTON CATHOLIC CLUB
“That modern machinery h»s been a great advantage to man” was the subject of a debate at the Ashburton Catholic Club on Monday evening. Mr J P. McDonnell (president) presided. The affirmative was taken by Messrs J L. and P. Connell, and the negative by Messrs M. L. Crequer and P. Flannery. Impromptu speeches followed the debate. One new member was elected. ,
