+ : . BELFAST UNIVERSITY HEAD APPOINTED LONDON. July 19. Mr Frederick Wolff Ogilvie, President and Vice-Chancellor of Queen's University, Belfast, has been appointed Director-General of the British Broadcasting Corporation "in succession to Sir John Reith. Mr Ogilvie is 45 years of age. Mr Ogilvie's new post is believed to be worth £7OOO a year.
