DRUNKENNESS A statutory first offender was convicted and fined 10s, and ordered to pay costs, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment, on a charge of drunkenness in Hereford street on Saturday. REMANDED ON BAIL Edward Allan Dunn was charged with stealing a motor-tyre valued at £5 7s, the property of the Timaru Borough Council, at Timaru, on June 28 Detective-Sergeant T. E. Holmes asked for a remand to next Monday. When the accused asked for ball, Detective-Sergeant Holmes said he had got away from the detective office and had had to be chased down the street and brought back. . The remand was granted, and ball fixed in self for £ 100, with one surety of £ 100, accused to report to the police. MAINTENANCE CASES (Before Mr F. Reid, S.M.)
