ACCIDENTS
FATAL ELECTRIC SHOCK (FBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGHAM.) 1 WAIROA, July 4. While working at a power substation at Onepoto on Saturday, Edward Tizzard, the first station operator at the Waikaremoana hydro-electric works, collapsed and died shortly after. * It is not known definitely what happened, but it is surmised that he suffered a fatal electric shock. He was seen standing near one of the conductors by a companion, W. A. S. Surridge, who, on seeing an arc, dragged him away by the coat tails and applied artificial respiration, without success. Tizzard, a married man, with one child, had been engaged on the Waikarempana scheme for about 10 years, and resided at Tuai.
