SOVIET OFFICIALS’ FLIGHT
JAPANESE HOPE TO OBTAIN INFORMATION

TOKYO, July 1
The Japanese state that M. Lushkov, chief of the Soviet Far Eastern Political Department, has fled to Manchukuo.
The newspaper “Nichi Nichi” states that M. Lushkov fled in order to escape a purge, and is at present Under police protection. His examination is expected to shed light on conditions in Russia. An artillery Major, Franizevitc' , has also fled to Inner Mongolia to escape the purge.
