FUNERAL
MR THOMAS DWAN The funeral of Mr Thomas Dwan took place at the Temuka cemetery yesterday morning, and was attendee by a very large and representative gathering. The services at St. Joseph’s Church and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. Father O’Reilly. Representatives from various bodies were the Mayor of Temuka (Mr A. W. Busan), who represented the burgesses and council of Temuka borough; Sergeant M. E. Hill, in charge of police officers from Temuka and Timaru; Mr R: A. Lyall (Temuka Rugby Football Club), Mr T. L. Russell (Temuka Progress League), Mr M Cameron (Temuka Amateur Wrestling School), Mr T. H. Paiki (Arowhenua Maori Runanga), Firemen T. N. Scott, and H. Phillips - (Temuka Volunteer Fire Brigade), Mr G. C. Tully (Temuka Cricket Club), and Mr J. M. A. Ritchie (Temuka Amateur Athletic Club). The six sons, Messrs Thcmas, Cecil, Leo, George, Travis, and Frank Dwan were the bearers.
